DSC_8033.jpg - The Mayan civilisation was considered one of the most advanced in pre-Colombian America. Its social structure was articulated in autonomous regions governed by high priests. After centuries of repression and injustice, it is quite extraordinary to witness that Mayan rituals still exist and that Mayan priests still use the Sacred Fire in their ceremonies, together with the Mayan cross and its orientation towards the four cardinal directions.
