Guatemala: No tenga pena

DSC_7336 FINAL.jpg - After nearly 40 years of harsh conflict between the guerrilla and the government, peace was signed in 1996 but has yet to be realised fully, while the assassins of the people continue to operate with impunity and the issue of land still remains without solution. Not much is known of those who disappeared. Is it possible to keep ignoring this or not recognising this history full of pain? Or the massacres between 1979 and 1983? Or is it possible and morally important to remember this history to ensure that it does not repeat itself again?
