This natural phenomenon unified further the two sets of religious beliefs, and put an end to many rivalries and disagreements. The Mayans combine the Christian religion with their own customs and beliefs. The Quiché priests keep celebrating rituals linked with meteorological phenomena and harvest cycles, on the slopes of the volcanoes and in the open air.
